A couple "odds and ends"

Happy Friday! A quickie post today... But three quickie things to share... Not sure if you have heard of the "Yesterday on Tuesday" blog...A craft Soiree, but I love to follow it! ( I am linking up) Had a bunch of church bulletins from my daughters' wedding this past New Years eve and I had to do something with them.  She has new furniture so I thought some coasters would be in order. :)
I cut them to size with glass squares from my lcs and mod podged them together.  I also mod podged them onto cork and it seems to hold fine.  However I think E600 might be more dependable on the cork but time will tell.          Below I want to share two QUICK cards I made...reason is that I am forever needing to come up with cards kind of "at the last minute" so I have my "go-to"  6x6 pads I love to pull out.  This makes my cards come together so quickly when all the papers are right in front of you . :)
Here all the papers are from the Prima pad "Madeline" and the sentiment is a freebie from "Paper Smooches".  Cute,  along with the"quasimoto 3" image from Stampotique.  Just layered papers and some punched clouds.  Again , below I needed a sympathy card....
All the papers from the KaiserCraft "secret bird society" pad just layered on  covered 4 x 5 white cs and the verse here (my favorite bible verse) from Our Daily Bread designs.
If you have any suggestions/secrets to share on "pulling a quick card together" I hope you will!  LOVE to hear them!  TFL!

SDC 49 purple/pink with black

Nellie is hosting this time at the Stampotique challenge blog...This combo took me a little out of my color "zone"...love it but dont use it much . :)
"Rabbit" #9230 by Janet Klein at Stampotique.  He comes along with a whole slew of  new "Wonderland" characters . They are so cool looking too!  He is stamped on plain cs and I used scraps of painted and inked papers cut up.  The sentiment "time" was computer generated that I placed over "sun design" image.
Join in the challenge using Stampotique images only to win a $30.00 gift for the store.  Challenges I am in for:  CFC blog= use stripes and polka dots ,   Ginger Snaps challenge=  use only two colors  (hope this qualifies since it is on black cs :),   2 Sisters challenge blog= use stitching.  TFL!

SCREAMING Bunny! by Roc Nicholas

There is a NEW artist at Stampotique and her name is Roc Nicholas. :)  If you joined in the blog hop you probubly saw some of her cute images and her blog is AWESOME....She is just incredibly inspiring!  Here I used "screaming bunny #2406" available at the S. store.
I stamped s. bunny on some dp, colored with copics and cut out.  The background was sprayed with Adirondack color wash thru some sequin waste then painted on with acrylics.  I sewed on some more dp scraps and stuck on some MS washi tape (stripes and dots= "  crazy 4 challenges " challenge 124) and stamped on "sun design #2095" and "happy happy #9007" also at Stampotique.  Fun!
This is also for the challenge over at Scrapbooker's paradise ponderings to use stitching, faux or real and the Allsorts challenge  142= anything goes. TFL!

Blog hop!!

STAMPOTIQUE SAYS......
"Welcome to our blog hop"  introducing a new artist as well as many new stamps from our other artists.  You should have hopped here from KAZ !  If you did not come from  KAZ's blog, you will want to start at the Stampotique Designer's Blog.
Join us along the blog hop for a chance to win some new stamps as a random winner will be chosen from one of the designer blogs as well as one from our Stampotique blog, so make sure to jump through the hop and leave a comment when you are finished.  Let us know what your favorite new stamps are.  We will announce the random winners on our next challenge on 2/22/12 so you have a week to hop around.
I made THREE cards for the hop!  My sister has triplets that are turning 21 in college - two boys and a girl- so I had a blast with a few of the new Daniel Torrente images.  :)  Something about these guys tickle my funny bone.......First is "Mervyn boy" 6144....on MME .."be amazing" 6 x 6 pad...
Then comes "Quizer" 6143..on MME "dilly dally" pad...
And now to Introduce one of our newest artists,  you may recognize her work as she was our guest designer at Stampotique in October of last year.
Presently she teaches rubber stamping and journaling classes.  A self- taught artist, Roc loves rubber stamping, collage, mixed media, journaling and doodling.  Her favs are all things whimsical, unusual and things that make her laugh!  She has an online international artist trading site which she runs, along with her blog and her facebook page. Roc has been published in a variety of art and rubber stamp magazines.  Here I used her "scalloped border" #2405  and colored it with copics to place next to "Marci" (also Stampotique).  DP is MME pad..lost and found: Union square.  Sentiment is computer generated... YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT ALL HER IMAGES...CUTE!
From my blog you will hop on over to see what fabulous new stamps GEZ uses.  Can't wait to hear what your favorite ones are!

Pile it on!

Today Stampotique is sponsoring the Pile it On Challenge.  The theory behind Pile It On! is to create cards, scrapbook pages or even altered items using MORE THAN ONE challenge. They have found it to be a challenge to see how many challenges they could get into one project.  Stampotique is ALSO coming out with a WHOLE new slew of images!  Hint: including  more from Daniel Torrente , Janet Klein , Kira Nichols and a new line from Roc Nicholas! Woot!  Woot!
Here is a tag I made with "picture door" #6146 by Daniel Torrente.
I stamped and cut out the image of the door cutting holes in the window part.  I colored with some copics and layered it on top a vintage face .  The challenge at Pile it on is" heart felt thanks".. (the sentiment "thank you" also from Stampotique) I also would like to enter it in the new Drunken stampers challenge to use texture..I embossed the back pannel and the door is popped up . Also the Paper take weekly blog: anything goes.   Flowers were made with some scraps of dp.   Stay tuned for a show of new images from all the dt in a Stampotique hop this week :) tfl

How did Heather Ellis know what my dd looked like??

LOL...Let me explain...Linda at Catered Crop had a challenge to make a card with newsprint/bookprint on it.  My card was one picked and I was asked to be a "guest chef" on the CC blog.  Well, Linda emails me and tells me that we can use one of Heather Ellis's  (Pure Innocence) images.  It just made me smile since I have long thought these images look so much like my oldest daughter when she was little. :)
Here is my card....
Image #034 is making Valentines!  She is colored with copics and paper pieced.  I used scraps of dp and a new sheet from "pebbles" (bought at Archivers).

Now here is my oldest daughter in her "pre-school" pic...she didnt like having her pic taken back then...
LOL...See what I mean?  Okay...so to be fair and hope she wont be angry with me... better post a "growed up" pic!
Isnt she beautiful?  :)  Almost 31 yrs old... Well...this is one mom who believes in bragging...sorry to be so pathetic!  tfl!

CASE ing your favorite dt member at Stampotique!

Kim is hosting the new challenge at the Stampotique challenge blog.  She is asking for you to "case" a card from your favorite Stampotique designer!  What a fun idea!  Well...untill you actually have to PICK one...ummm...I LOVE ALL the girl's work so it is a tough one.   As I was "scanning" the cards in the gallery I couldnt decide on one so I just MADE TWO  thinking I wanted to do something different.    BOTH cards from Jo Capper-Sandon .....past dt member...and great artist :)
First is the hilarious card using that "strut your stuff" bird ..

He's walking away from some big mess...kinda like some people I know! lol  Yea...I just said that... This card just cracks me up and it was a "no brainer" when I saw it. I picked it not only cuz it was so funny but different.    Below is another kinda cute one from Jo using "Marci" ...
Love using a tag for one and cutting Marci out was something I would not have done on my own.  She is popped up on some MME dp and the little "sprigs" of flower image is "lavender sprig"also from the Stampotique store.
I really got to hand it to Kim for coming up with the challenge idea since I did do somethings I wouldnt have thought of..AND, if you dont have the exact same image you can sub with another Stampotique one.  Thanks for looking and go  check out the challenge  blog to see who everyone else "cased".  Pick out any favorite from the dts's blogs and link up the one you are copying... use a Stampotique image and come have some fun with us! .

Kate's Feb calendar, Feb tag swap and a 60s' theme atc

Here's a look at my calendar page for Feb in the Kate Crane gathering (only wish I could be there making it with her ) :)

I am continuing in an art book that I had started in art school so there is some gesso to start, acrylics , stencils and spray inks.  The days were punched with a square punch (inked up scrap paper I had).  On the bottom right is "the crafter" by Stampotique...I think she is making Valentines :)
We can journal or draw something each day and wow..I think I lead a boring life sometimes!  lol  However, I am reading and watching ALOT of journaling stuff so it is fun! Doodling just like high school on your books...Heaven!

Below is my February tag for "Tee's" Altered tag-a-month swap.  If you havent checked out her blog = she has some really fun swaps goin on.

SPEAKING of swaps...I always try to be in the Bliss swap and this month I signed up for the "WTA" (winner take all) group...one random person in the swap is picked and everyone sends them an additional atc with the theme of their choice.  I won!  I recieved my first of a "stash" to come of "60s theme" atcs' lol  :) Yep...gotta love the 60s and early 70s! I got this cute atc from Marilyn...at Funky peacock studios  ...LOVE IT!
She said her first car was an orange VW bug...hey...closest I got to that was my best friend who I rode with to school...she had a baby blue one!  Thanks Marilyn !   TFL!

"pretty party dress" for Valentine's day

What is it about this dress that EVERYONE wants to paper piece it?  lol  Yeah, so did I again :)

I put "pretty party dress" #9216 from  Stampotique on some gorgeous Indie Bloom BG dp and did a little sewing.  :)  Hope to slip this in to the Catered crop challenge again (use print), the Daring cardmakers challenge (use red and pink), Creative Belli blog  (use hearts/Valentines), and  the Craft challenge blog (a color combo). tfl and have a great weekend!

Strut your stuff!

Love this little bird from Stampotique..."strut your stuff" #2069.  I knew I would use him for so many things (look out blog readers lol) so I HAD to get him.  I was feeling like using a bit of yellow today too..even took the pic outside since it is so unseasonably warm here for this time of year. :)  The tag is one of my stash made when watching a short video of the way Dina Wakley creates...awesome lady!  I did a little sewing on it and tied on the ribbon and the little bell.  "Wish" #3048 is also from Stampotique.  tfl!
Challenges I am "in" for :    Pile it on = just becauseCrafty Catz = things with wings, Crazy for challenges c4c121= layers and hot shot crafts= use a flower!
