Take a look at the new challenge at the Stampotique designers' blog. Use "eggplant hues" in designing your creation ............ Yay= Get out the art journal! lol I will admit these colors are not my strong suite...but!..Sarinda is hosting and she is full of artistic inspiration so here I go:
I started with gesso and some Dylusions spray ink and water. I dripped some navy ink on the side and let it run. I used "sick kitty" by Kira Nichols at Stampotique and colored with copics and cut it out. I think he is tierd out from so much night traveling! I also used "squiggle arms", "flowers", "small owl " and "daisy daisy".( all from Stampotique ) The neighborhoold below was just doodled on and the stars are from my white uniball pen.
Take a look at the other dts' creations with these colors and remember: its much easier to play in the Stampotique challenges now! The new rules say you can use ANY images :) Thanks for looking

Weekend art journal and a Viking girl :)
Its Saturday AGAIN :)...busy busy! Baby son is back at college :( and time is flying once again. Why do they drive you nuts at home then you miss them like crazy when they leave??.. Thinking of the last days of summer I made this art journal page in my little book.
Okay...so this was my first attempt with my watercolors! I had these purple flowers floating around in my head and I just fenced them in with a black sharpie. The bigger flowers were hand cut from some painty scraps. I used Julie Balzers' cloud stencil, some gesso thru sequin waste and some magz cut-outs. The sun is ofcourse "sun design" image from Stampotique. I am adding this to: Art journal everyday, and Artists in blogland.
Next is my "Viking girl" tag (image from Roc Nicholas) . She was paper pieced, colored with copics and put on an inked up tag. I have also used "sun design" and "squiggle arms". Inks are Dylusions and Adirondack color wash sprays. Did a little sewing to finish it up! TFL and hope you are enjoying a pleasant weekend....

Heres' my latest pages in my mini book for Art journal everyday....
Supplies: gesso, kraft paints from lcs, paper leaves from a random old package of embellishments, DR stamp, doodleing with black sharpie pen, photo my back yard printed on cs, TH ticket, white uniball pen and TH tiny staples. TFL

SDC61= alter something!
Happy Wednesday! New challenges startin up with the new dt at the Stampotique challenge blog and new rules. :0 Check it out cuz I think you will be pleasantly suprised. Hostess : Polly Bennett is asking us to "alter it". This was A LOT of fun! Take note: there was also A LOT of canvas projects at CHA Chicago this summer. :)
ONE of our new dt members is Sarinda Jones...awesome inspiration at her blog...She is a multi talented artist too. She did a tutorial on her blog showing how she painted a canvas bag for her mother in law . I decided I would case hers for my niece who loves the Daniel Torrente images at Stampotique.
This was done with Faber castells (gelatos), modeling paste, flowers, ribbon, canvas and lace and just about anything you wish. I made a vow that I would only use what I had lying around my "art room" with the exception of the canvas bag (1.00 from the lcs). The flowers were actually picked up a while back when my lcs was marking them down for .50 cents a piece . :)
Stamps used: "beauty verse" #3056, "carrot" #6092, "gobby lin" #6116, "Minky girl" #6125 and "gog lin" #6118, "bla bla bla" #6001 and "sun design" . The leaves are modeling paste pushed thru a cheap stencil I found at the lcs for .25 cents :) She really likes it and I am already thinking of ideas for one for myself!
I would also like to link up to "paint party Friday" TFL!

Unscripted Sketch #171 and Art Journal every day
New post at the Unscripted Sketches blog : Sketch #171.
I used this awesome image from ?? I cant remember where I got it :( BUT I have used it before since I love it for how unusual it is! I printed it out twice and punched the center of the bubble with a circle punch and added it on with pop ups. Not sure if you can tell from the pic. Dp is from BG "clippings" pad and washi tapes from smash books and lcs. I would like to enter into the Crazy Amigos challenge to use washi tape.
I bought myself a new smaller art journal to take with me on the go. Since I am new to art journaling I am a little "afraid" of the big ones anyways lol.... made a page to share at Julie Balzers' blog:
I tried out a few new techniques and got pretty inky :)
Recipe: Gesso, acrylics, Julie Balzer stencil, pitt pen, inktense pencil, tombow marker, distress pads , white uniball pen, printed napkin and "gog lin 6118" from Stampotique. TFL

CAS challenge and Altered Arts E-zine
Stampotique is sponsoring over at the CAS blog (Cas-ual Fridays = clean and simple) and the theme is "squares"/square cards. Why in the heck is it such a challenge for me to do CAS??? lol.....oh well.....Here is my card:
Easy peasy...sponged around a circle, stamped two inks with "birds of a feather 2061" and "just because 5239". Lined it up with my sharpie fine pen. Had to tie my hands after this he he he! Wanted to do so much more! Next up I am LOVING me some ROC NICHOLAS and ALTERED ART E-zine! I was actually dieing to try Roc's envie technique..and I thought I would for my Altered Art project! Go easy on me please...its my first attempt making an altered envelope!
I hand painted (fingers) on some acrylics and gesso...then stamped this up with the following from Stampotique: bubbles 2059, Amelia 7019, and swirl stalks 3028. I did some "dotting" with white gesso and paint and a credit card. I lined Amelia with an orange glittery gel pen and a permapaque on her cheek. I also used a BG000 copic inside the bubbles and some glittery green gel pen for some more dots. So much fun for a first attempt and I KNOW I will be doing this A L O T ! Challenges for this fun envie are :"challenge up your life"= do what you like and anything goes", first time playing there :) and "simply create" = anything goes THANKS FOR LOOKING- Have a GREAT weekend and see you tomoro for the new challenge at Unscripted Sketches :)

Saturdays' Unscripted #170
Happy Saturday :) New sketch for the Unscripted Sketches blog: Here is "Julep" (#7043) from Stampotique. Colored in copics this is one rare sea creature lol! I have also put some copic ink on "bubbles" (2059) and "lavender sprig" (3043) then stamped them randomly. Love the blurry effect it gives the images when you just color on the stamps. The seaweed is punched with a MS punch from a pad of that cloth paper. It had glittery goodness on it and I love the way it sparkles. Finished with some old book pages trim and a computer sentiment. Check out the US blog for more inspiration . TFL
