Settling in after all that food? He he he....The Stampotique designers' challenge this time is asking you to tell us your wish for the New Year thanks to Nellie who is hosting! Create something with your Stampotique stamps and show us your thoughts for 2012. :) My wish is to get in some serious art journaling! LOVE all that you can do with an art journal and my art group here is focusing on a technique book . It is my hope to try it all! I am really blessed to be on a dt (Stampotique) where there are several really talented gals making some very cool pages. Below I made my 6 x 6 page with some sponged distress inks, sequin waste and a punched snowflake used as a stencil. Last I stamped "heads" #6097 (one of my favorites) from artist Daniel Torrente available at Stampotique Simple! The sentiment is one I love and I thought appropriate. On the back of my page will go the details and at my group we will swap pages each month.
Wishing you all many blessings in 2012 and MUCH creativity! TFL and show us your creation with Stampotique stamps for a chance at a $30.00 gift from the Stampotique store.

Stampotique DT challenge 44 -shimmer it up baby!
So, Val over at the DT challenge blog is asking us to make a card shimmer, glitter, glitz or shine! Guess this is the season for that :) I used "moon belly" #6039. Hey, I had to use an angel for Christmas right?
Close up shot! Wanted you to see the emboss gold and the gold stars!
I just started with a tag covered in some Christmas dp then I stamped and paper pieced this cutie and cut her out with my cutter bee scissors. I border punched the bottom of the tag and sewed a little (as usuall :) I made this card for a friend who has helped me out this holiday season tremendously...the inside reads: You are an angel! So cmon and link up your "glittery" cards over at the blog to have a chance to win some candy! TFL!

Christmas and a birthday
Gosh I love this image! It reminds me so much of childhood Christmas. I grew up Catholic with a holy water font by the light switches in the bedrooms of our house. For some reason this pic reminds me of that. There always seemed to be angels on them. :)
"Bad me" cuz I can not remember where I got this image - but it was probubly Graphic fairy? It has been a while tho. Challenges I am in for? : Raise the Bar= beginning to look like Christmas, Paper take weekly= anything goes with a "dangly" object (bell), Creative Belli= winter and Christmas+ old emb (image, bell), Hiding in my craft room=use scraps (Stella Rose scraps of dp here).
Next just sharing a card of my dd (child no 3of 4) when she was 3yrs blowing out candles on her cake....she is 27 today and getting married this New Years eve :) Time flys! When it is one of my kids birthdays I like to make them a card using an old photo of them. I used this VERY cool dp from DCWV called "the Colorful Life stack"..the artwork on the dp is from Donna Estabrooks and I LOVE her style...looks like cool art journal book paper with some glitter.

A couple of challenge ATCS'
Gosh, there is just something about making an atc. I love them cuz they are quick, cute and oh so fun to make! Seems like if you have NO time...you ALWAYS have time to make an atc. :) I am joining in a new atc challenge blog called "atcs' with attitude" and I am pleased since these little works of art can be just about anything! The challenge over there is to put a flower on your atc. This one is also made for the "Bloggers challenge" "color my world" which is to use your favorite colors. I LOVE mustard, navy and orange. I used this cute Riley for Thanksgiving and colored it with copics. The sun image is from Stampotique and it is my all time favorite sun that I use on soooo many cards. I also want to enter this in the Corrosive challenge = give thanks
Next is this atc with an image from "Eat cake graphics". This is called "Billy and sparky at window" . I have also colored them with copics, cut it out and put on some scraps of MME dp. Sentiment on both cards are computer generated.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges: Shopping our stash= Christmas or winter, C4C = snow and this new challenge blog called "fashionable stamping"= "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" :)

A non traditional Christmas card- No red and No green...teal?
The new challenge over at the STAMPOTIQUE challenge blog is to make a non-traditional Christmas card. Well....I sometimes struggle with these types of challenges... THO I LOVE ALL of these non-trad cards , I also have a very strong Catholic faith. Therefore, I feel pretty "traditional " when it comes to Christmas cards.
But!.. I do have ALOT of people that I have to send cards to during the holiday season for various reasons so I went that route with my thoughts on this card . :) I believe this card below would echo the sentiments of many people this time of year! lol....................
The challenge is to use any colors but No red or green...truth is this looks green here but it is more teal... :)
I colored "Brrr" #6139 with copics right on the dp after stamping her with memento ink. The sentiment is computer generated and I did a little sewing. Snow courtesy of my white sharpie poster paint pen. Pick up your STAMPOTIQUE stamps (only) for this challenge and put together a non- trad card for a chance to inherit a $30.00 gift to the Stampotique store. TFL!

SDC 42 Sketch challenge
Lisa over at the Stampotique designers' challenge blog has given us a sketch to work with this week. I picked up "fiddle" (from artist Janet Klein) at Stampotique.
I am also currently loving this "colorful life" dp from DCWV. It is artwork from Donna Estabrooks and it is gorgeous :) I used that here even tho you cant see much of it under the "fiddle" flower. I cut the flower with my TH die and used an old math book page with some black netting. Yep, I did some sewing and distressing across the top of t he panel . I think fiddle looks quite content! :) Pop over to see what the other dt members did with this sketch- I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
4 Crafty chicks= diecuts!
Crafting for all seasons #13= texture
Anything goes challenge blog= stitching
Totally papercrafts= stitching TFL!! Happy Wednesday!

Painting wine glasses
These days my blogging is far and few between it seems. DD is getting married on New Years eve so between that and work I am missing my art ! This past weekend my other daughter and I hosted her wedding shower. Since we LOVE wine I thought it would be fun to give the shower a "wine " theme.
So, with my sisters' help I painted about 40 or so wine glasses...all different. It seemed to be a big hit and the guests each brought them home.
I just used enamels from my lcs and I did bake them to set even tho you can just let them "cure" for about 25 days. Every one was different and on some I put a set of wine charms. This one I just used some wire and beads with a little miniature glued on the bottom for a garden theme. The glass I painted for my daughter has a wedding dress painted on it and I made a set of charms with pearls and navy crystals (wedding colors). It really came out gorgeous and ofcourse I dont have a pic to share yet! BUT...GET A LOAD of this AWESOME CAKE!
The whole thing (besides the 2 small wine glasses on the side) is CAKE! The plate even lit up! :) Oh, did I mention it was delicious? lol
I just HAVE to show this pic....this little sweetie is the "ring bearer" and he was just so stinkin cute I wanted to squeeze him! lol TFL

Altered poison bottles
The new challenge over at STAMPOTIQUE dt challenge blog is given to us by Maria this week. She wants us to make a "poison bottle" and use a STAMPOTIQUE image for Halloween.
I bought my bottle at the lcs and stamped the "heads" image with black stazon. The little wood tag was stamped with the skeleton head on the Halloween cube 2. Then I used some clear glue (use something that will adhear to glass well, i didnt!) and just dripped it on the neck down to hold some beads in gold and black. The opening is painted with just some gold glass enamel paint. I weathered the cork with some black ink and put some beads on some corsage pins and just pushed them in. What about the liquid?? you ask...lol it is my dh's beer with a little red food color! Check out the other AMAZING creations by the girls over at the blog...they are really really cool! Remember there is a $30.00 gift at stake from the store to win. I would also like to enter this in the following two challenges: "If the shoe fits...scrap it!" = Inspired by Halloween and Fab N Funky spooky challenge= Hubble bubble toil and trouble!! TFL :)

He's got a little mud goin on the face...too darn cute hiding in the pumpkins :) The "recipe" over at Catered crop calls for A Fall theme and colors, "bottoms"...ok...well..how bout a baby bottom that you cant see at the moment?...he he he...Color medium= copics, Embellishments?=lace, thread, twine, buttons and ribbon...Tools?=leaf punch .
I also discovered that Mo's challenge is to make a card inspired by a song...well, how bout a nursery rhyme.."Peter Peter pumpkin eater"? Guess that could change to be "Patrick" too!
Thanks for looking!!

SDC 40...Nellies' challenge to make a tag
Sweet " Nellie" fellow dt member at STAMPOTIQUE is the hostess for the new challenge.
Make a tag...any kind..any size for fun. :) I made two and then put one on a card.
I used the" Halloween 2 cube" (pumpkins) and stamped
with Stazon. I also used stamp "sun design". I sponged
color on with Ranger distress inks and I needed small
leaves so I just punched with a leaf border punch and used it like a stencil . The letters were just computer generated.
Pumpkins are colored with copics....still usin them :)
On this next one I am still playin around with my inks and I wanted to use some paints too. I used a new stencil (lovin stencils) and sponged orange paint over my inks. After that dried I used these images from STAMPOTIQUE..."sun design", "quasimoto 3" and "heads"..which is stamped in light blue ..kinda hard to see here. I did a little sewing and then stamped the "beauty" sentiment (also from STAMPOTIQUE) and put it on the tag last. TFL and remember to check out the challenge blog to see the rest of the dt members tags ! :)

A book sharing..
I am working on a little scrap book of my mom for my youngest sister. My mom died when I was 17 and my youngest sister was only 8. She has been asking for some of the old pics of her and I thought it was time I put some of them together.
I adore Vicki Chrisman's blog and I asked her to send me some of these die cuts figuring it would make this book come together easy. :) She sends so many gorgeous papers and I think she is still offering them. Above on the left is my grandma and to the right is my mom and her dad. A little vintage mixed with shabby.
Oh and notice the little top flap of an old sewing pattern...that was a suprize in the envelope with the die cuts...
Love the scissor punch I got ...want to use it more. Vintage buttons from local antique mall.
