Use text paper!

Love the new challenge at the Stampotique challenge blog= Use text on your creation.
Sarinda is hosting and here is what she has to say..

Hello Crafties....

Today is Stampotique Designer's Challenge day-!!! And I am hosting. I love using text in my work it is a fun way to get texture without a whole lot of work. With that I have a background tutorial for you to try. Click over to my blog Aggregate Memories. Wishing you a very creative and inspiring day.

Here is my creation using "stacked suitcases"
"love travels" and "funky dotted leaves" and "funky striped leaves"

I absolutely LOVE using text on EVERYTHING so this was a fun
challenge for me :)  This tag started with a bit of acrylics and a lot of spray inks.  I cut out the images, (cut apart the leaves) and popped them on the tag.  I sewed a few lines (cuz I love to) and finished off with my white signo pen.  Thanks for looking !

gelli printing

Had some time to pull out my new gelli plate again..
So, with that I am "rolling off" my brayer in one of my art journals.  I couldnt just leave that paint on the pages! :)  I did some cutting from magazines, doodling and printing to finish off the pages..
I think I will be doing more of this..as if the gelli printing wasnt fun enough on its own..this is soooo relaxing! By the way, who doesnt love to cut images from magazines??

The weather here has been gorgeous and I was sitting on my patio with my dogs cutting magazines listening to the "quiet" and the birds.. tfl!
Hooking up with: "Inspire Me Monday", "Make it Monday", "Creative Every Day"
AND ofcourse "Gelli Queen" Carolyn Dube"s gelli printing all month! at "A Colorful Journey.

Art group "She girl" inspiration

Love Fridays!  I also love my "art group" here .  A few years back I attended a workshop and met some awesome creative ladies.  From there I began to be part of their "art group" that meets monthly.  I look forward to the relaxing evening every month and this month we made "she art" INSPIRED canvas'.
It was really fun to see how each of our "girls" evolved. We started with deco-podged papers over canvas then modeing paste thru some stencils and finally stamps, dp, and paint. I have always admired these and I took myself out of my comfort zone using "girly" colors. :)  Thinking of my new grand daughter I guess!
So many ideas now running thru my head and love working on canvas.  Thanks for looking- hope you have a great weekend :)  Entering in:  Paint Party Friday,

Anything Goes! Happy Hump day!

(please scroll down for challenges! )  Happy Weds!  Great challenge this week at the Stampotique dt blog and "Kim" our dt "chief  Poo-Bah "  is hosting!  Thought I would just copy and paste her message:

This is Kim here and I'm excited to get to hostess this week as it's our 100th challenge.  This week is super easy for you all-ANYTHING GOES.  I find myself creating a lot for the wonderful design teams I'm a part of but once in awhile I just like to play a bit and create for no reason at all other than to participate in some of my favorite color, sketch or theme challenges.

So there it is...ANYTHING GOES!  If you havent participated in our challenges before= NOW is the time!  Get in on a chance to win a gift to the Stampotique store! :)
Gotta tell you...this canvas is proof positive you CAN gesso over most anything and start over if you are not happy with what you have made!  lol  This canvas was painted in "blues" and textured to death.. I was not happy with the result...so I listened to what many artists post about and painted over the whole thing.  This was another cheapo canvas in a frame for two bucks on the reduced table at Hobby Lobby and I am NOW happy with the result. :)  Again, I have gessoed, painted (acrylics) and stenciled on this.  I used "Roc's angel" (Stampotique) and stamped her on book print.  She is colored with markers and inktense pencils..along with a white signo pen.  The rest was doodled on and the sentiment is stickers.  I certainly would have tossed this a year ago..not believing in covering it..but my new brave self made me forge ahead!  Silly, but dont know why a canvas makes me so nervous!  Hope you jump in and join us !  Love seeing all the fun creations!

A little of this and that :)

So, Happy Mother's day..one day late!  Mine was incredible along with the whole weekend!  My youngest graduating from college and a visit with my first grand child...what could be better then that?  We had a LONG car ride...the result..some doodling with my inktense pencils in the car..a challenge :)
Below,
I had started a page at home in my water color moleskin with gesso over some ephemra, lettering practice  scraps and acrylics.  I stamped birdy bonnets   and cut them out after coloring  and stenciled the window on (windows and doors stencil) then just finished the whole thing up in the car doodling away!

The wonderful water color looking flower was cut out from a greeting card someone gave me :) Love it and couldnt part with it!  (leaves image also from Stampotique).
Now..you know I just have to show you my "baby son" in his grad outfit...

This is the youngest of four graduating college...Belmont Abbey in North Carolina.  I am so incredibly proud of him..played baseball with a scholarship for two years here/ home after high school..then "walked on" at this division II school and made the golf team.  He has accomplished quite a bit and was even on the honor roll.  If you knew how worried I was "back in the day"..reading to him.. even thru junior high school..I wasnt sure how things would turn out.  This kid is my HEART......  Thanks for letting this pathetic mom share..  :)  I am truly blessed...

Check this stuff out= GooseBumps!

I just got some Imagine R/ GooseBumps TM  Texture Spray and I love it!  Anxious to try it out.. :)   I sprayed some on a tag.. let it dry, and inked over it  (Imagine Crafts R/ Tsukineko R Memento  TM teal zeal dye ink and pistachio)  with a sponge.  It makes your creation have a wonderful textured surface acting like a resist!
I stamped "village" image from Stampotique (France Papillon design) and colored it with Copics, cut it out and put it on top with a little sewing.  PRESTO! Tag goodness!  TFL!
