Valentine postie!

Gotta get a few Valentines out!  Starting with a "roc" inspired post card here..
I started with some gessoed mixed media paper that was cut 4x6 size.  I sprayed some dylusions. :)
I used my "scalloped lace border" stamp on a scrap of gelli paper and cut it out.  I used "stacked love" printed directly on the card and colored with Prisma color markers.  The stars and hearts were stenciled on and I did some doodling with a white uniball pen. ( The arrows are a fun wheel-stamp- not sure who makes it cuz I have had it for quite some time. )
Images are by roc Nicholas and can be purchased at the Stampotique store!
Have you heard about the "documented life" project?
I am working on it and hope I can keep it up!  If you haven't checked it out- you should..its free and fun!
Here we were to use a "selfie" and since I don't have many pics of myself,  I used this one of me in kindergarten.  The background is stencils and lots of acyrlics.

Below I am sharing my mini-moleskin journal for " on the go art".  It is a great way to doodle and make a wee bit of art every day.
I just made some notes of my week visiting family..

"here's the story"

BIRD PRINCESS!
by Roc Nicholas at Stampotique!

When I finished this card all I could think of was trying to explain to someone something strange that had happened!  lol  This may tell you a little bit about my life  !

The background is Dylusions and acrylics thru a stencil.  The "boxes" are scraps
of painty papers and I did a little sewing.  I stamped her on a separate
piece of dp to paper piece my card.  Her hair is white uniball pen.
This also fits the Stampotique "star challenge"

Learning and Creating...2014

My commitment this year to myself is to continue to learn as much as possible..
I am taking new classes and participating in a few online journeys.  Hope I can keep up with all the arty goodness.
Thought I would try a little something new and journal a bit in Effy's BOD 2014 group.  She posted this sketch of a face and gave it to us to create with...
I started with pieces of very thin collage papers, then a thin layer of gesso.  I "podged" on the image that I printed off from her and I did some spongeing over some CW stencils and doodling.  The stamped (only one) image is called "dandelion duo" from the Stampotique store by Jo Capper-Sandon and I used a white Prima chalk ink.  Her hair is Americana acyrics...purple pizzazz and Napa Red.  Love them..Wish you could really see the yellow..it is Golden's Interference gold (fine) liquid acylic.
She wanted us to use our "word" for the year...mine is "improve" but bliss is what came to mind here for me.  :)   Thanks for looking!

A spotlight from rOc NiChOlaS :)

Happy Thursday and the sweet Roc Nicholas has shown a spotlight on me here...
Love her images and I am thrilled to be working with them available at the Stampotique store!

We are coming out of the deep freeze here in Ohio and I am happy for it.  Got a bit of creative time in...below is my favorite mug of all time..
Got it at Pier 1 long ago and I decided I would love to have a few wine glasses like it...
I just bought some Americana gloss enamels and painted on this thrift store wine glass...baked it in the oven for a permanent image and done.  Wish I had more of the mugs...guess I may have to paint some!  Thanks for looking :)
