Getting "journal ready" for vacation

Lately I have seen a LOT of posts about taking your journal with you on vacation..what to bring...etc.   I LOVE Ronda P.'s blog and she just did a great post on it.
I found this reduced price leather covered journal in Hobby Lobby.  The front is plain with "God is Good" embedded in it and the inside is lined pages with a short bible verse on the bottom of each page. Nice cuz I can choose to leave that showing  if i wish.   It is pretty thick too.  I started by gluing several of the pages together through out the whole book.
Then following Ronda's advice I just started putting marks down on each page.  I used some dylusions sprays through a stencil, some acrylics spread on with a credit card and I even did some doodling.  I drew some birds and colored them and cut them out.  Just really getting something down on most of the pages.

(Stampotique sun and leaves images)

Below is an inked and doodled  paper that i cut in to a large scallop...i did a little water coloring after the acyrlic shmear..

Love to pull out my "roc nicholas" images and add them in too....i can color them or journal on them later...  (squiggle arms and scalloped border

 roc's "stacked cups"

Then...well....yes, I couldnt resist finishing a page!
I used "bunny"  from the Stampotique store (roc nicholas again :)  along with a doodled girl face and a cheap feather image from Michaels i think..the flowers under bunny and the sun image can also be found at the Stampotique store.
Who knew getting a journal "ready" would be so much fun?    I plan on packing my small art pouch with my inktense pencils, markers, pens and some small scissors...oh, and my waterbrush...cant wait!  TFL!

Thanks for sharing, I did pop over to Ronda's blog too. Great tips and tricks for a traveling art journal.

This is perfect as we are heading to the beach this next Friday for a 10 day stay. Now I'm off to get a small journal ready for the trip.....thanks again.
