This week over at STAMPOTIQUE the lovely Valerie is challenging us to alter any page in a book . I belong to an art group in my area and we are all working on journaling books so I was happy to use my Stampotique stamps.
I have only done a few books and this one is different for me. The book is an old encyclopedia and the pages are painted with gesso and acrylics. I bordered the frame with scraps of dp and book pages . I used magazines for the cut outs and word stickers, punches and doodling. This book is all about techniques and ideas to try in my art work. I used "I can see clearly" #6091 girl from STAMPOTIQUE colored up with copics on the side:
I also used the verse "the simplest things give me ideas" #9083...This is a quote by Joan Miro...I was always told by my high school art teacher that my work seemed to remind him of this artist... :) So I love the quote.
If you havent tried an art journal yet I can tell you they are really alot of fun and very addicting! The challenge this week is open to use any stamps so why not give it a try? The prize is $30.00 to use in the Stampotique store. TFL!

Funny journaling, Jane!
Just gorgeous, Jane! I have wanted to alter a book for a long time now, but just haven't gotten up the nerve. I think it's on my "Bucket List"! LOL
Beautiful page Jane, love all the elements you brought together
love that bright green color with the scrap border. Great journal pages!
Fab altered journal page, love all the colors and details!
Love all the elements and I agree journals are such fun as you can just do what you want.
Oh well done Jane on your fab Journal Pages!
I groaned when I saw this challenge as it is a style I've never been interested in trying, but I am going to give it a go anyway :-)
