"Jelly Park" inspiration and a special birthday card

There is a cute  challenge blog called "Jelly park" .  The inspiration is a wonderful photo that actually caught my eye on another blog.  I decided to grab the freebie Jelly park offered and make a Christmas card.
This cute snowman was hard to resist esp for free! :)  I used some bg scraps and bg eskimo kisses pad.  I colored the snowman and popped him up on another copy for the card.  I also would like to enter this in the Fussy and Fancy chllge #42 for Christmas creations  and Creative Belli challenge = "Christmas in July".
Next = OUR FAMILY  have a very special occasion coming up this Tues...my FIL is turning 95!  He has always told us that he simply HAS to live longer then HIS father who passed when he was 95 so this is a "biggie" for him! :) I might also mention the doctors KEEP telling us that my FIL is dieing every other month....hmmmm....someone better tell the docs:  GOD ONLY KNOWS  when he is gonna go!   So- this is a card made with a picture of my FIL's FATHER....when he was 95......

AND the snarky sentiment is a family joke that my hub insisted on using! lol

Oh,..wanted to tell you all that I made the easel card so he can set it up on his table in his room for visitors to see!  TFL!

Two cards for Two friends..

Well, I STARTED with the sketch #116 at the Unscripted Sketches challenge blog and I am not sure thats what I ended up with so hope this still makes the cut!
I had such a fun time with 2 of my girlfriends last weekend and we talked alot about how we NEED to have this "girls gathering" alot more often!  I have had  this very old Inkadinkado set called " girls gathering"  that I got on a reduced table and figured I would finally use it.  Dp is lemonade and green at heart bg pad and ofcourse the images are colored with copics.  I made the little flowers with a punched out book page that Billie (from USketches blog )  shows you how to do on her blog.   TFL and hope you can too cut out some time to spend with your girlfriends which is so important for the "mental health"! lol

Red, Yellow and Orange...

Thats the new challenge over at the Stampotique designers' challenge blog Kaz is the hostess and she wants to see maybe a little bit of "sizzle" on your cards :)  Since I am an August birthday girl these colors are suppose to come a bit easy for me...rite?
This is Sunfleur , by the artist Janet Klein,  one of many cute images from at Stampotique.  One really nice thing I have always liked about Stampotique is that the owners really have such an AWESOME array of designers.  Great young artists with a tremendous amount of talent.  Such a big choice of styles!  I used this sizzling hot dp called "rusted sun- Indian Summer " by Fancy Pants designs.  This was one I was hoarding!  "Sunfleur" is colored with many copics and the flower was just a punch and crinkled up flower.  I have also done a little bit of sewing, cbing and piercing.  Thanks for looking and I hope there is some sunshine by you today!  Head over to the blog to see more inspiration from the dt and get in the chance to win a $30. gc using Stampotique stamps on your project! tfl!

Unscripted Sketches #115 A Christmas easel card

Have you ever made your card, take several pics of it only to find out that something fell off the card once you download all the pics? :(   Gees...hope I am not the only one!  lol  Cripe it has been so darn hot my glasses were fogging up when I was trying to take this picture!  Hey, maybe that was the problem....
Here is my card for the Unscripted sketch #115 challenge.  I thought I should finally make an easel card since I also tend to get into that familiar and comfortable "card " syndrome....bahhhhhhh!

Below is the card WITH the ribbon that fell off the top of the present... :)
Here is the card WITH the bow found and put back on!

DP is bg and some paper scraps from my lcs.  Riley moose is a fav of mine and he has been "put away" for a while so I had to bring him out :) Sentiments computer generated.. Got another little Christmas card done..YAY!  Thanks for looking!

"Grow Girl" postcard

So...there is a NEWBIE challenge over at the Stampotique designer challenge blog.  This challenge you can use ANY image you want and the theme ...given to us by the awesome "Gez" is "FLOWER POWER"... :) ...Wow, you can sure interpret that soooo many ways! Just have fun and get in the list to win some candy from STAMPOTIQUE!   Here is my "grow girl" #9069
I think she is a pretty good example of "flower power" .  Dp is from a reduced file at Archivers- sorry cant remeber the name and this is actually a postcard I made to send to my sister who hasnt been well for a while.  I just cut the cs the size of a post card, applied the dps and image, did a little sewing and stamped the postcard image stamp (also from Stampotique) on the other side.  Popped it in the mail! Thought it may cheer her up.  TFL!

Two more Christmas cards done!

Still keeping up with the Christmas challenges with Sketches blog , I managed to knock out another card:

I used a "Mo Manning" image I got quite a while ago called "hanging stockings".  Dp is MME and TPS and I colored with copics.  Next I used the sketch from Unscripted Sketches #114  where they are celebrating Christmas in July this month and giving away some prizes.  I wasnt sure if I liked this sketch or not but love it now that I am finished!

I used one of my old Shirley's 2 Girls images ( I believe their images are still available on Etsy to purchase) and I used the same dps' since I had them on the craft table. :)  Sentiment is computer generated.  The tag I just cut down and used my SU letters on.   Cant believe it is July and I have some Christmas cards done!
Yay! cuz my dd is getting married on New Year's Eve and I kno I will be plenty busy by then!  TFL!

A little tribute....

I had decided to try a one layer card...never made one before.  I used this bg dp=out of print and stamped with this "moon garden" Stampotique" stamp.

This past June my dd and I took a quick trip out to New Mexico to visit with my sister and her husband....A guy who had his share of grief and knocks in life....but a VERY nice guy with a VERY big heart.....He died this afternoon...age 49 ...leaving my baby sister a widow at age 47....what can I say...my heart is aching...
As I post this card I wonder if he is "up there" watching us all...did he get to meet my mom??...who came to get him??...will my sister ever recover??...thanks for letting me indulge in this post....

Vint...love you and miss you .... you are wearing that stupid hat...you were soooo loved in spite of everything you went thru....A talented artist ,
a husband that loved his wife, A lover of animals and gardening....God Bless...your misery is over now...

Christmas in July at Unscripted Sketches and published! at Altered Arts

Over at the Unscripted Sketches blog (a fav "go to" blog for me) they are doing a little celebrating this month with tutorials and goodies .  It is Christmas in July and I used their sketch to make this little card.
First I flipped the sketch to go with this cute little CS image a friend sent me.  She is colored with copics and I used scraps of dp from memory box , BG wassail, and Kaiser craft. . Next up I am all excited to show you a little ATC and a pin I made from a "recycled " wood pin I got at a garage sale.  :)
I found out that I was published in  the summer issue of Altered Art!

Here is the ATC I made to go with it!  TFL!
